High- Speed Train to help Great Wall of China Marathon Runners(January 3,2018)   Beijing were proudly awarded the hosting rights to the 2022 Winter Olympics in 2016. The Games will take place in Zhangjiakou, Badaling and in downtown Beijing.  Badaling is home to the section of the Great Wall where the 2018 Great Wall Marathon will take place. China recently tested out the new high-speed train link between Beijing and these venues which will definitely be beneficial to all participants in the 17th Great Wall of China Marathon 2018. Currently the time taken to get to the start line on the Great Wall from the official Shenzhou (Beijing) International Hotel in downtown Beijing is one hour 20 minutes. For those of you that have never run the Great Wall marathon, we can not emphasize how important and more convenient this will be for all entrants from the novice to the international runner who will not have to get up at 2:30AM to get to the start line. Now all runners will be able to get sufficient sleep before the race with runners departing the hotel in downtown Beijing at 5:30AM and arriving at the start line at 6:50AM with the 17th Great Wall of China Marathon starting at 7:30AM.
